The Danger Zone for the 9/16-9/18 weekend

The Danger Zone is our crime blotter culled together from the nightly police reports. Yes, it’s called The Danger Zone because of Stockton’s consistent ranking in top ten of most dangerous cities in America. Feel free to listen to this while reading.

Friday 9/16 PM-Saturday 9/17 AM:

According to the report, a vehicle was traveling down McDougald at a high rate of speed when it lost control and struck a tree. That caused the vehicle to go airborne, hitting several parked cars in the reporting party’s driveway, eventually crashing through the garage where it finally came to rest after hitting the boat and truck within. A witness saw the male suspect, 25-year-old Zane Ashik Ali, exit the car and attempt to flee. Due to a head injury suffered in the accident he didn’t make it very far and he was detained by police shortly afterwards. He was admitted to the hospital due to his injuries. Also in the vehicle were two female passengers. One was pronounced dead at the hospital while the other showed no brain activity and isn’t expected to survive.

Saturday 9/17 PM-Sunday 9/18 AM:

A 16-year-old male was shot by and unknown suspect while in the 300 block of South Pilgrim Street. He was taken to San Joaquin General Hospital by ambulance for treatment to non-life threatening injuries. Suspect described as Hispanic male, 5’8″-6’0″ with a shaved head and a medium build.

A 30-year-old male was approached by several men wearing masks while he was walking to the store. The men demanded his property and the victim ran and was shot as he tried to flee. They took the victim’s property and fled on foot. Victimw as taken to hospital for treatment for non-life threatening injuries. Suspects described as black males ages 17-20.

Officers responding to a call found a 23-year-old male victim lying on the sidewalk. Victim had been shot and had succumb to his injuries. Witnesses reported hearing a loud party that ended in a disturbance that culminated in shots being fired. Officers found beer cans and other party remnants in front of the alleged house but no one came to the door.
