Let’s hop on the highway and check out what went on in the Danger Zone this week.

Monday Sept. 19th

Residential Robbery 2100 block of Fontana Ave 10:50am

A 42-year old woman who sells old cell phones out of her residence was robbed by a potential customer Monday morning. The suspect, described as a Hispanic male in his 30s (5’7″ 160lbs black hair, brown eyes), was invited into the house to see the phones and grabbed them once inside. He also took the keys to the house and the victim’s Chihuahua (yes, he stole her dog too) before fleeing the residence.

Stolen Auto Pursuit Foxcreek Dr and Morada Ln 10:34pm

Delta Regional Auto Theft Task Force (Delta RATT) officers observed a stolen vehicle in the area of Foxcreek Dr and Morada Lane, following it to West Lane and Ham Lane where a traffic stop was attempted. A brief pursuit of roughly four miles reaching a top speed of 80 mph concluded when the suspect(s) crashed into a cornfield at Armstrong and DeVries Rd. During the chase officers saw a gun being thrown from the driver’s side window of the car. Officers were unable to locate the suspects or the abandoned firearm but did find a magazine loaded with live rounds.

Tuesday Sept. 20th

Condition Blue, indicating a high volume of calls, was implemented at 11:20am and continued twice.

Stolen Auto Arrest 400 block of W. Scotts Ave 4:19am

Officers responding to a report of a stolen vehicle located said vehicle at Church and Harrison. Witnesses reported seeing a suspect running away from the vehicle heading east down Church and officers located the suspect on Scotts attempting to hide behind a car. Officers found him with the victim’s video games which had also been reported stolen and arrested him. Suspect described as a 16-year-old Hispanic male.

Wednesday Sept. 21st

Carjacking Arrest 3600 block of Pacific Ave 9:15am

A 30-year-old female was getting into a car when approached her with a knife and forced her into the passenger seat. The victim fought back and was able to get the knife from him and exited the vehicle. At that point the suspect drove away in the victims car. Delta RATT officers located the vehicle, unoccupied, in the Morada Raley’s parking lot. Eventually the suspect, identified as 49-year-old Kevin Gene Perry, was found in the parking lot with the keys to the stolen car and was arrested for carjacking, traffic violations, and parole violation.

Carjacking Airport Way and Lindsay St 5:20pm

A 28-year-old male was parking his car when two Hispanic males in their 20s approached him. One pulled a gun and put it to the victims head and ordered him out of the car. Suspects last seen headed east on Lindsay.

Thursday Sept. 22nd

Person Shot 8100 block of Palisades Dr 7:44pm

A 33-year-old male was walking back from his car when he was approached by two men, one with a handgun, who demanded the victims wallet. Victim attempted to flee and was fired upon, suffering a non-life threatening injury. Suspects described as two black males ages 15-18.
