Pacific’s jazz concert series continues this weekend at the Faye Spanos Concert Hall. The event is free for students at both UOP and Delta, and is otherwise $8. If you feel like showing up early, Pacific’s annual Cardboard Regatta will also be taking place at the school’s pool at 4pm if you want to watch a bunch of students see if they succeeded in making cardboard boxes seaworthy.

Saturday Oct. 15th

Allure of Water Outdoor Painting Demonstration/Auction in Downtown Stockton 9:30am-12:30pm Free

Saturday morning, numerous artists featured in the Haggin Museum’s Allure of Water exhibit (which opens Friday night) will ply their craft downtown for everyone to see. Afterwards they will auction off their finished work at the Waterfront Warehouse.

Miracle Mile’s 90th Birthday Celebration at the Miracle Mile 2pm-6pm Free

The Miracle Mile celebrates its 90th year of being a miracle this weekend with a party behind Whirlows and Kinder’s. There will be classic cars, bands, games, and much more in this family-friendly event celebrating the first shopping district constructed outside of the downtown area.

Sunday Oct. 16th

Lucha Rules 3 at La Jamaica Hall 6pm $15

Independent pro wrestling returns to Stockton with Pro Wrestling Bushido’s Lucha Rules 3 event. PWB champion Timothy Thatcher will defend the title against former WWE wrestling Fit Finlay in the main event. Chavo Guerrero Jr was scheduled to appear but had to back out due to a scheduling conflict as is wont to happen in indy wrestling. Former Ring Of Honor wrestler Colt Cabana will be on hand as will recent ROH signee TJ Perkins. I’ve been to the previous two Lucha Rules events and they’re really fun and family friendly. It’s a much different atmosphere than WWE events since the venue is considerably smaller, allowing for more interaction between the crowd and the performers.
