Events Calendar for the 10/20-10/23 Weekend

In Entertainment on October 19, 2011 at 4:43 pm

Thursday Oct. 20th

Violinist Michelle Xiao You at the Haggin Museum 6:30pm $5

It’s the third Thursday of the month, which means it’s time for the second half of the Haggin Museum’s 1st and 3rd Thursdays events. This time they’ll have a performance by Chinese violinist Michelle Xiao You. She will perform a concert entitled Water Music, presumably because of the museum’s ongoing Allure of Water exhibit.

Friday Oct. 21st

Sphinx Virtuosi at the Atherton Auditorium 7:30 $25

The best and brightest musicians that participate in the Sphinx Organization’s Sphinx Competition bring their tour to Stockton this weekend. The group, comprised of some of the best young African-American and Latino musicians in the country, will perform multiple pieces in a concert lured to Stockton by the Stockton Symphony.

Saturday Oct. 22nd

Symbolik, Toy Called God, Cast Iron Crow, and Sound of War at the Plea for Peace Center 7pm $6

Four bands I’ve never heard of play the Plea for Peace Center this Saturday night in what is literally the only vaguely interesting thing going on Saturday.

Sunday Oct. 23rd

No notable events

Honestly, I tried to find something but I already linked to a Haggin event and the only other thing going on Sunday is a half marathon/5k that has already closed registration. So, yeah, watch football or something.
