Events for the Weekend of 10/27-10/30

In News on October 26, 2011 at 12:23 pm

Thursday Oct. 27th

Louis CK at the Bob Hope Theatre 8pm $37

In what’s hopefully the first of many savvy bookings, the Bob Hope Theatre plays host to comedian Louis CK on Thursday night. CK, a veteran comedian of over 29 years is widely regarded as the reigning king of comedy in many comedic circles. His gritty FX show Louie (which CK writes, directs, and stars in) completed its second season over the summer to critical acclaim. CK’s brutally honest act covers many subjects including parenting, divorce, living in a major city, and masturbation (lots and lots of masturbation).

Friday Oct. 28th

Scarefest at the Plea for Peace Center 4:30pm $10

The Plea for Peace Center holds one of its bigger shows this weekend as they celebrate Halloween with 10 bands for $10. We’re Not Friends Anymore, Common Crooks, Still Fighting, Black Blood Dead Dreamer, Eleonora, The Chroma Season, Enmity, Behold the Device, Sagas, and Lights Ahead of Us are all set to perform all afternoon/night long at Scarefest. Attendees are encouraged to wear costumes.

Saturday Oct. 29th

Costume Pub Crawl at various Stockton bars 5pm $20-$30

The Downtown Alliance puts on their second drinking event of the month with their annual Halloween Pub Crawl. This pub crawl also includes a ticket to the Stockton Thunder game should you want to attend the game (hence the varied ticket price). Participating bars this time around include (but aren’t limited to): the Abbey Trappist Pub, Bradley’s, Nena’s, Evviva, Misaki’s, and Chitiva’s.

Sunday Oct. 30th

Family Fun Day at the Stockton Children’s Museum 12pm Free

The only real event going on Sunday is a free family fun day at the Children’s Museum. It’ll feature all the typical family fun day activities like face paining and such. Plus, free museum admission.
